Natural attenuation: Bioremediation at a given site as a function of the naturally occurring microbial population and naturally occurring chemical, biological processes.
Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (NAPL): Contaminants that remain undiluted as the original bulk liquid in the subsurface, e.g. spilled oil. (See: fee product5.)
Non-Detect: A condition in which an alantical parameters is not present in sufficient concentration to be detected by a given laboratory method detection limit (MDL)
Non-potable: Water that is unsafe or unpalatable to drink because it contains pollutants, contaminants, minerals, or infective agents.
Nutrient: Any substance assimilated by living things that promotes growth. The term is generally applied to nitrogen and phosphorus in wastewater, but is also applied to other essential and trace elements.
